Hey Lady, what's this all about?

We do improv with a difference.

Hi folks. I teach adventures in Improv theatre to the performer/wannabe performer out there. That is, we explore ideas and train in performance skills that will make you a great improviser.

We play around with things I've learnt from some of the great teachers & schools in Australia & overseas, but my agenda is always focused on better listening, connecting, being present to what's happening now, playfulness and discovery; anything that gets you the improviser, out of your head and into your body & heart. Have a lookie below at the classes and hop on board!

Speciality Workshops I Offer

Beyond Broadway to Funky Town!
Improvised vocal music making workshops with Linda Calgaro
What?  Come and experience what is possible in a fun exploration of different techniques for using voice, creating song and making music. Get connected, playful and expressive in a world of musical joy and fun-times!
If you’re an Improv actor, this two part workshop will show you how to move beyond Impro games, to think outside of ‘The Broadway Musical’ box. You’ll find ways of incorporating acappella song and vocal music in impro, either as scene starts or show moments, through an exploration of exercises and guided jamming.
More ‘What?’  This workshop is also great for anyone after some tools for song writing, or those who just want to have a sing. You will learn how to set up a ‘song jam’, how to work with and create harmony, how to hear and accept musical offers and in general, how to have fun playing with your inner Rock Star &/or Funk Miester!
Whether you have little experience or a lot of experience, this workshop will teach you to listen, loosen up and get creative, all in a supportive and super fun environment.
Bring it!

I've taught this workshop to theatre students at Turramurra High School (Sydney), musicians in Melbourne, at The Nelson Fringe Festival and at Canberra's Improv festival 'Improvention'. If you're interested in having me teach this either as a one off workshop for would-be music makers (introductory or experienced 'singers'), or solely for improvising actors, or as a starting point to creating a show format, drop me an email!
