Linda
Calgaro is a Sydney based Improv actor, teacher, director, singer and musician,
who is passionate about making improv theatre. She thrives on getting the best
and unexpected out of people and pushing the boundaries to creativity to
inspire different, interesting, fun work.
She
has studied Improv acting in Sydney and overseas with teachers from iO, Second
City and Loose Moose, including David Razowsky, Jason Chin, Bill Arnett, Lyn
Pierse, Patti Stiles, Shawn Kinley, Jill Bernard & Joe Bill. Linda also
studied Theatre and Film at UNSW (BA Hons) and acting at The Actor’s Centre
(Sydney) and ACTT.
She
has furthered her Impro skills by performing throughout Australia as well as
North America (iO Chicago; Huge Theater, Minneapolis; The Hideout Theater,
Austin; The Brody Theater, Portland, Oregon; Unexpected Productions, Seattle),
Germany (Wurzburg International Impro festival 2012, 2013 & 2015) and New
Zealand (New Zealand Improv Festival - NZIF 2013, 2014, & 2015 - & the
Nelson Fringe Festival 2015).
Linda
has directed and produced several shows for Impro Australia at Newtown theatre
and the Belvoir Street theatre, including three Cranston Cups and has
also assisted with projects for Urban Theatre Projects and Sidetrack
theatre. She has directed, written and produced shows for the Sydney
Fringe Festival and is a member of the mischievous, award wining Impro trio -
voted 'Best Ensemble' and 'Best Show' at the 2015 New Zealand Improv Festival -
Lady Fingers.
